A Timeline of Our Grants and Announcements

May 2017 – ISCF Agri-food technology catalyst seeding catalyst award

Vertebrate Antibodies in collaboration with Professor Sam Martin at Aberdeen University have secured a BBSRC SEEDING CATALYST AWARD to support a project on developing assays to monitor the health robustness and monitor infection of aquatic animals. The project will focus on the characterisation of a set of health markers previously identified at Aberdeen University.  Monoclonal antibodies will be generated towards the selected health markers using an optimised method developed by VAL. The antibodies will be used to characterise the protein expression profile by immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Antibodies are then integrated into high throughput assays or point of care kits to facilitate the measuring and charting of the health markers which will prove beneficial in determining disease state or the effectiveness of treatments and the overall health of farmed fish.
